How do I take a sample for this comprehensive blood test?

This test requires a fasted blood and urine sample.  You will be required to take your urine sample at home and your blood sample from an authorised collection centre.

Care should be taken to follow the 4 day preparation in advance of taking your samples.

Read our Comprehensive Health Array 1 preparation guide for more information.

How long do test results take to come back?

Results are usually back within 5-6 weeks of the lab receiving the test sample. We’ll notify you when your results are back.

Is this test more comprehensive than a full blood test from my GP?

Yes. This test includes everything from a regular full blood examination significantly more biomarkers.

Why include a urine sample?

Testing a urine sample allows for insights into the downstream products of various metabolic processes.  Testing of metabolites in urine is also referred to as metabolomics, which is a powerful tool in functional nutrition, helping to assess gut health, neurotransmitter status, detoxification pathways, mitochondrial health, and nutritional deficiencies. This allows for targeted dietary and supplement interventions based on an your unique metabolic signature.

Can I collect my blood and urine samples at home?

Yes and no. Your blood will be professionally collected at an authorised collection centre available Australia wide.

The urine sample will be collected in the comfort of your own home.

Should I retest?

Yes.  We recommend retesting your health status to track the impact of your health protocols and to enable precision supplementation.   The cadence of retesting is unique to each individual based on results.   Sometimes we may recommend a retest as early as 12 weeks or you may be recommended an annual retest cadence.
